you tease the same hardness I do
in the photograph it’s like
the same fault lines too
where I’m tender and fresh-raw
faded in other ways
[out of frame]
looking for the middle
you glance down or on or away—
getting expectedly older all coy
no indiscretions of the team sport
and I’m likening around to make it so
